Padanaram Village

Village has many summer resident’s and people who live their year round. Located in Village is Beech Plum Cafe, The Black Bass restaurant, Acushnet Creamery. South Warf (Concordia) the maker of the world famous Concordia Yawl. New Bedford Yacht Club (NBYC) was established in 1877. It has had three member who have defended the America’s Cup, and the junior sailing programs is one of the top ones in New England have won many awards through it’s history.  Many of the Youths in the town have gone to Friend’s Academy located in North Dartmouth and from their off to their respected boarding schools. It is known also as the town to move to after you have gotten tired of the traffic in Newport, on the Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Directions: From Rte. I-195 take Rte. 140 South and follow it to the traffic lights (Rte. 6). Turn right on Rte. 6 west, taking a left at the 2nd set of lights, onto Slocum Road, continue on Slocum bearing right as it becomes Russells Mills Road, then turn left on Elm St.(after Police Station on right) follow Elm St into the Village.

Padanaram Bridge Information
Opening Schedule:
From May through October, the bridge opening schedule is as follows:

  • 6AM – 8 AM : On the hour and half-hour
  • 8 AM – 8 PM : On the hour
  • 8 PM – 9 PM : On the hour and half-hour

To request a bridge opening, hail the bridge tender on VHF Channel 13.
You can also request an opening by calling (508) 910-7107.
If you have no communication equipment at your disposal, you should approach the bridge a few minutes prior to a scheduled opening and sound 3 Short Blasts with your horn in the vicinity of the bridge.

(Please be advised: There is a FEE for parking at the Landing. There is no cost to enjoy the view from your occupied vehicle.)
DAILY PARKING PASSES are available at the landing. Cost is (check on pricing) per calendar day (MIDNIGHT TO MIDNIGHT). Complete an envelope found at the orange box near ramps, insert (check on pricing) day vehicle will be parked. Deposit envelope into orange box.
SEASONAL PARKING/LAUNCH PERMITS (DECALS) are available at the Dartmouth Town Hall only (COLLECTOR’S OFFICE).
Failure to pay appropriate fee will result in parking violations being issued..
